• Upgraded tank with a fire control system incorporating a foreign-made thermal sight The upgraded T-72 tank with a fire control system incorporating a thermal sight attracts attention by its low silhouette, relatively light weight, lethal armament and high reliability at minimum operating costs, which has put it on a par with the best tanks in other countries, immediately and for years to come. The upgraded T-72 has retained all the virtues of the baseline tank and incorporated new advances in tank-building, which still maintain an edge over its counterparts. The upgraded T-72 tank is superior to the baseline T-72 in firepower, protection and mobility and compares favorably to its predecessors in the installation of upgraded and all-new components. The fully-stabilized auto-loaded 2A46M gun of increased accuracy increases the effective range of fire. A modern fire control system (FCS) allows the commander and gunner to engage targets with a high probability at the halt and on the move, day and night, under low visibility conditions. Simultaneous modernization of the FCS and the installation of the 2A46M gun have greatly improved the target detection range and accuracy performance of T-72’s armament system. A high-precision missile system with a laser beam-riding missile provides destruction of all types of ground and low-flying air targets at ranges up to 5,000 m. With its armor plating, combined with the tank’s high camouflage properties, integral explosive reactive armor, and automated smoke-screen laying system, the tank is capable of accomplishing missions under strong enemy fire. A collective protection system makes efficient use of the tank in NBC environment. A 1,000 hp engine, increased road wheel dynamic travels, higher-performance hydraulic shock absorbers, torsion bars with a higher level of operating stresses contribute to a higher average speed of the tank.
  • Tank The T-90MS tank is designed to destroy tanks, self-propelled guns and other armored targets, as well as engage enemy manpower. It is fitted with a new turret weapon station with an upgraded 125mm gun and an advanced highly automated digital fire control system (FCS). The new FCS provides the target detection, identification and destruction using the gunner and commander’s multispectral sights at the halt, on the move, day or night. The T-90MS is equipped with a guided missile system designed to defeat armored targets, including those equipped with explosive reactive armor (ERA), at ranges up to 5 km. The T-90MS has inherited the layered protection philosophy. It has retained a low silhouette and low optical and thermal signatures typical of Russian tanks and is fitted with an automated smoke screening system. It carries a new modular ERA system. A collective protection system ensures the efficient use of the tank in a NBC environment. The tank features improved mobility and steerability achieved through the installation a higher-power engine, automatic gear shift control and wheel steering control. While retaining a low silhouette, optimal weight, high mobility and capability to cross the most difficult obstacles at high speed in stride, which are traditional for Russian tanks, the T-90MS has acquired a contemporary level of protection and survivability.
  • Tank The T-90S main battle tank (MBT) is a new-generation hi-tech weapon system developed drawing on century-long experience gained in world and Russian tank-building industries, lessons learned from combat use of tanks in various countries around the world, studies and analysis of their field service and intensive trials in the most severe environments. The T-90S is a tracked combat vehicle featuring lethal armament, advanced fire control system, heavy armor protection and high maneuverability. Its main armament is a 125mm increased-accuracy smoothbore gun with a built-in boresighting system and a quick-release barrel. The gun is stabilized in two planes and is loaded by an autoloader. The autoloader ensures a high rate of fire (up to 7 to 8 rounds per minute) which favorably distinguishes the T-90S from most of foreign MBTs. The ammunition load includes high-performance APFSDS, HE and HEAT rounds. The tank gun’s capabilities to engage ground and low-level air targets have been enhanced through the use of a guided missile system: a laser-beam-riding HEAT missile is chambered by the autoloader and then fired by the gun. A 12.7mm roof-mounted machine gun enables the commander to deliver pinpoint fire on air and ground targets using remote control actuators. The tank is fitted with an automated fire control system allowing the gunner and the commander to effectively fire the gun, coaxial machine and antiaircraft machine gun at the halt and on the move, day and night. The T-90S features unrivaled 4-level protection: a low silhouette and small side and front areas; an electro-optical countermeasures system; composite armor; general-purpose explosive reactive armor. Its high cross-country capacity, mobility and maneuverability are ensured by a powerful diesel engine, a reliable running gear, manual transmission with hydraulic steering actuators, a deep-water fording kit, and tracks that can be fitted with rubber pads. The T-90S boasts the highest structural reliability. It has built-in self-entrenching equipment, can be fitted with mine-clearing equipment and transported by all means of transportation.
  • Tank The T-90SK tank is designed to provide command and control over subordinate units, facilitate communications with superior commanders, and conduct operations as part of units and subunits. This command tank is a derivative of the T-90S tank and is distinguished by an R-168-100KBE HF radio set, TNA-4-3 tank navigation equipment set and PAB-2M aiming circle. Its basic specifications are on par with the baseline T-90S model. The command tank’s armament system, protection systems, power plant, transmission, running gear, vision devices, deep-water fording kit, self-entrenching equipment, and mine-clearing equipment mountings are similar to those of the T-90S MBT.
